Why Are We Here?

We are Bible Queery and we’re here to build a community of healers, facilitators, and pastors that are committed to LGBTQ+ care.

Bible Queery started as an insta live show between Erin and myself. When the pandemic of 2020 emerged we were restless and ready to care for people in a unique way. We felt like offering a space where folks could ask their honest questions around sexuality, gender, faith, sex - you name it - was a healthy offering. And thus, Bible Beer Queery was born!

We continued with our show and when America started to unravel and show its deeply seeded wounds, we took to zoom to allow social media to be for Black Lives Matter movement organizers. Our first zoom session was full of diverse and beautiful LGBTQ+ people from all over the US. Erin and I began to dream of a way we could take Bible Queery further.

We began to ask: How can we break down false narratives, offer community, push the boundaries on biblical case, and walk with LGBTQ+ folks so they could finally see their own reflection holistically?

What do we mean by holistically, you may ask? Well, for me, that is mind, body, spirit - it is the embodied image of God we were born with not disembodied but deeply felt and eager to be discovered - it’s your whole self at the table, friends.

So, we created a cohort in partnership with Our Bible App that has 32 individuals from around the world walking with us through their own wildernesses to do the work of embodiment.

And, now here we are, ready to offer those types of journeys to our community, to organizations, to churches, to faith spaces, to groups who desire to know just how beloved they are from God.

Erin brings such a unique lens as a biblical scholar and hermeneutical bad ass (we can say things like that here) and I bring my deep commitment to pastoral care and non-anxious presence. Together, we truly believe we are offering our queer community something new. A new balm that is for all of us: queer, trans, bi, non-binary, gay & onward. You bring yourself and we’ll bring the maps, pencils, paper and love needed to walk this path to healing and understanding together.

We are Bible Queery and we’re here to build a community of healers, facilitators, and pastors that are committed to LGBTQ+ care.
